Inspired by time spent walking the Fife Coast Path and wintering in Spain this group of paintings includes my first venture into using acrylics when I was captivated by the light, colour and activities in the coastal town of Javea in the Alicante region of Spain. The intense colour, textures and patterns created by the heaps of tackle on the quayside and the languorous nature of the port cats resulted in some vibrant acrylic paintings to warm thememory. Walks on the Fife Coast are good for the body and soul! The route through the often quietly sleepy picturesque fishing villages of the East Neuk are an inspiration. My fascination with shells, rockpools and seaweed mean I often return with pockets full of shells and pebbles as well as a phone bursting with photographs. And then there is the sea with its moods and its power to mesmerise, soothe, elate or destroy so there is a lot more to continue to inspire.
