A deep affinity with nature
Anne is an Irish artist and retired teacher now living and working in the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland.
She draws her inspiration from the natural world and her emotional response to her surroundings.
Her love of colour and selective use of media produces a wide range of work, from vibrant expressive landscapes to intricate and detailed botanical studies.
Each piece reflects her passion for the natural world, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the tranquillity and wonder that provides.
In her own words...
For as long as I can remember, I have felt a profound connection to the natural world and the seasonal changes it brings. Being close to the earth is therapeutic for me and I've created gardens everywhere we have lived in Cheshire, Devon, Somerset, France and Scotland.
Witnessing the miracle of growth up close is a constant source of inspiration. My creative process always begins with drawing, often influenced by what I discover during walks.
Whatever inspires me, my aim is to capture and express the soul of it.
In the quiet time during the Covid pandemic as Lock Down eased the ritual of therapeutic daily walks around Loch Leven began.
With heightened awareness of nature and landscape
I began a new series of work inspired by walking in Portmoak Moss and areas around Loch Leven.
